On a recent outing to Botanical Heights, I discovered Union Studio, a charming store and cozy workspace owned by Mary Beth Bussen, that offers a treasure trove of handmade goods lovingly crafted by local St. Louis artists.

Union Studio is a beautiful boutique. The large windows bestow a natural light-filled airiness throughout the store, making the coveted collection of hand-crafted items on display even more appealing. I walked around the store a few times, taking in and admiring the work of more than 40 local artists represented under one roof by way of delicate jewelry, hand-woven turkish towels, St. Louis prints and photographed cards, corded ring trays and baskets, deliciously scented soaps, a wonderfully smelling Neroli Body Oil and so much more. I couldn’t help but be in awe – who knew St. Louis had so many talented artists and makers? So if you’re in need of a birthday gift, housewarming present or just some much needed retail therapy, Union Studio is the perfect place to shop first and support local.
