Wow. That’s a long title, and not a very creative one at that. Add to it the fact that black pepper is an ingredient in this smoothie and I can see you slowly starting to close the page… thumbs up you brave souls who are still here because this smoothie is, in a word, yummily delish! (Ok, that’s two words, kind of made up).

So here’s the deal. The pineapple, frozen banana and honey/dates bring a mildly-sweet citrus flavor, while the turmeric and black pepper combo (you need both to help boost effectiveness*) adds a bit of an after spice kick. It’s fun. You’ll like it. Also, my 10yo claimed this smoothie tasted like caramel so there’s that.
Makes 1 8-10 oz. smoothie
Ingredients:
8 ounces coconut water
1-2 tsp chia seeds
1 cup frozen pineapple
1/2-1 frozen banana
A handful of raw walnuts
1/4 – 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
A small pinch of black pepper to help absorb the turmeric
2 dates, soft and pitted, or a tsp of local honey
Instructions:
- Add all the solid food and spices first to the blender. I prefer adding the coconut water last. Blend all the ingredients together in a high-speed blender until creamy and smooth. If you want it thicker, add some ice. Sip. Slurp. Drink up.

This recipe has been a tad modified from the original recipe found on the blog Sophie Uliano.

So, I am a little scared about the pepper but otherwise sounds delish. Going to have to try it.
