The Weekend Guide

I loved the snow storm that came through St. Louis yesterday. It was a great excuse to hunker down, hang out and cozy up with the family and we did just that. But I have to admit, with Snow Day #2, I’m feeling a bit antsy now. Call it a case of Cabin Fever meets Spring Fever, but I’m ready for warmer weather, sunny days and a pop of color in the wardrobe. Here are a few events this weekend to help put us in a Spring mood. Wherever you are, have a wonderful weekend! xx

‘Handmade By Love’ is the tagline for the adorable Maplewood boutique Maven, and it certainly shows. From the all-natural body lotions and soaps, with playful names like ‘My Boyfriend’s T-Shirt,’ ‘Don Draper,’ and

‘Salty Sea Air,’ to the homemade soy wax candles, jewelry and men’s grooming line, this store is a refreshing breath of Spring air.

Anyone who has the vision to preserve and convert a 1930’s vintage gas station into a cozy wine bar and restaurant is pretty spectacular. If you want to grab drinks before the theatre, or want to experience the more leisurely paced three-course ‘Sunday Supper Club,’ Olio is a culinary gem that offers something for everyone.

I love Brunch, and lucky for us, St. Louis has many fabulous Brunch options. A particular favorite, for the lovely atmosphere, homegrown food and attentive service is Cafe Osage in the CWE. The Greens, Eggs and Ham is a must.

Night at the Aquarium is a special event happening Sunday, Feb. 24, at the World Aquarium inside the City Museum. Bring the kids, the camera and pretend you’re on a tropical getaway! (Reservations are required.)
