Five Details

Lafayette Square Park
A beautiful message on a hand-painted stone found resting on the gate of Lafayette Square park, discovered by my son on the walk home from school. We left it there.

I often find myself falling into bed each night wondering where the day went. Do you ever feel this way? I’ll reflect on my day, what I saw, what I read, what I said, but it all seems like a blur of business. Since Father Time has no plans of slowing down, I decided the next best thing was to take an intentional pause in order to cultivate more awareness of all the lovely little things around me. I believe life is lived in small moments, genuine gestures and delicate details. But unlike the big moments, these won’t leap out at us. We have to look for them. Five Details is a new series I’m starting, with the intention of slowing down enough to appreciate and be more mindful of the present moment. I hope you enjoy it.

  1. G,
I just saw the fifth moment when I reread this email.
Thanks for this idea. You have such a lovely outlook. It is nice to take a look through your eyes.
