It seems everyone is in various states of Spring Break Fever. They are either talking, packing, planning or uploading photos of their sunny vacations and sun-kissed smiles. And I can’t help but feel a pang of Spring Break Envy. In the past we’ve traveled, but this year, with the boys having two separate weeks off, Jeff traveling for work, and let’s face it, my poor planning skills, we are staying close to home. We may do a quick weekend getaway, but no big, fancy travel plans for us. For those of you who are staycationed-bound too, I thought I’d showcase a few places on the top of my travel list. If you have a favorite vacation spot, I’d love to hear about it! Happy Spring Break and safe travels! x
Seaside is my favorite vacation spot. It’s adult, kid, and bike-friendly, with beautiful, white sandy beaches, the best cheese grits from Great Southern, and an endless supply of good ol’ Southern charm.
The fresh, mountain air, the plethora of outdoor activities and the fact that the grandparents live here, makes Denver a city we love to visit. Washington Park and the Botanic Gardens are great for the kids, and Georgetown makes for a fun day trip.
Overlooking Lake Michigan, South Haven is a small, quaint town with an easy, rustic charm. Unwind on the beach, run around at Kids Corner, taste test the fudge, taffy and ice cream shops on main street, go blueberry picking, enjoy fish-n-chips at Clementine’s, and stroll the lighthouse pier and watch the sunset.
Asheville’s been on my radar for a while now. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this hip mountain city has just the right mix of nature activities like whitewater rafting zip lining, hiking trails, and an eclectic downtown art and culinary scene. Throw in a tour at the Biltmore Estate and it’s high on the list.
